“L.A. Murals,” a new photography exhibition from the Library of Congress, documents murals painted on the streets of Los Angeles, an epicenter of the world’s street art scene.

The photographs are now on view in Los Angeles at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in the Library of Congress Ira Gershwin Gallery. The exhibition, which is free and open to visitors of the Concert Hall, went on view in September and will close in September 2020.

“L.A. Murals” features 30 photographs curated from the archives of photographers Carol M. Highsmith and Camilo José Vergara, which are part of the Library’s Prints and Photographs Division of more than 14 million photographs documenting America. The focus of the exhibition was inspired by the vitality of the visual arts and creativity of LA. Library curators organized the exhibit.

The exhibit is on view until September 2020, and is free and open to the public.

Unique Markets: Los Angeles

LA+shop+local.jpg

Aside from shopping and supporting local designers and small biz owners, guests all get free treats including: a tote bag, ice cream from the Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream truck, a shake from our friends at Shake Shack, a portrait + print at our photo station, loads of free drinks, and lots more! *tickets will also be available at the door.

Our mission is to provide opportunities that help entrepreneurs, designers and artists grow and increase success - helping to take their businesses to the next level. All while helping the public discover and support local small businesses, creativity and take part in community. Our very first market, #UniqueLA, started in December of 2008 and instantly became the largest indoor 'buy local' shopping event in the country. Every year close to 50k attendees come to discover independent designers/artists and buy local at our markets (an estimated $1 million is spent at each two-day show). We hold three major shopping events in LA per year, plus smaller educational and retail experiences. In 2018 we will produce markets in other cities across America including Austin, Boston, Seattle, DC, Denver, Minneapolis, and Phoenix.
