The LA Design Festival honors our city’s rich design culture and celebrates our status as a global design capital. Our definition of design is purposely broad to ensure that our festival is reflective of LA’s diversity and talent.  The Festival is the only citywide festival of its kind, featuring events throughout LA.

We live in a rapidly changing world where social, technological, environmental, political and economic shifts are changing the way our future will look. At the same time, design has evolved and expanded to affect every aspect of our lives. And so we ask: How will design continue to evolve to meet future challenges? How will designers apply intellect to problem-solving, making new and better things, spaces, and services? We believe that design is intrinsically optimistic and open-ended and that designers see a multiplicity of futures. For 2020, we’re looking at the future through a lens of optimism, curiosity, and purpose.
