The exhibition Fibre-Fixed. Composites in Design brings a wide selection of design projects with composite material. The presentation shows a surprising overview of what is possible when fibers are combined with a (bio) plastic, forming fiber-reinforced composite materials. Designing with composite materials is situated in a context of current societal challenges: climate change, ecological impact, sustainability, mobility problems, aging of the population and digitization.
Curators Ignaas Verpoest (KU Leuven) and Lut Pil (LUCA School of Arts) focus on the developments of the past five years and present expected breakthroughs for the coming years.
Fiber-Fixed. Composites in Design is a co-creation project in collaboration with the Dutch design collective envisions.
