Brand Library & Art Center is proud to present “A Century of California Women Artists” which commemorates the heritage, challenges and accomplishments by members of Women Painters West for the last 100 years.
The exhibition features 100 new, contemporary works by current Women Painters West members inspired by past member artists, as well as showcasing 25 original paintings by past members on loan from Southern California museums and private collections.
Women Painters West is the oldest organization of its kind recognizing contemporary women artists and their historical sisters. Today, Women Painters West is a diverse multi-generational group of 200 women artists. A non-profit organization that has educational, benevolent, fraternal, and charitable objectives awarding scholarships to art students in southern California, assisting in community art programs and enriching members’ professional opportunities.
Join us for the free, public opening reception of this historic milestone exhibition on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 6-9pm at Brand Library & Art Center.
