Why Story Mfg. Travels 5,000 Miles For Craftsmanship

Auroville in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu is the home of production for Story MFG., a London-based label specialising in sustainable clothing. MR PORTER travelled to India to find out more about the brand, the husband-and-wife team behind it, and the local community turning their designs into reality.

Jacopo Maria Cinti

Based in London, I am an award-winning Director and Creative Director who works on 360° projects involving videos, advertising, digital media, graphic design, publishing, branding, web design, packaging and industrial design. My work has covered all sectors including luxury, automotive, non-profit, tourism, financial services and FMCGs.

A European Institute of Design graduate, I studied in Italy, Finland and the UK, where I specialised in fashion, luxury and high-end products.

I have worked for various agencies and brands, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Proximity, BBDO, MR PORTER, designed products for SELETTI and served as Creative Director at Spazio Pontaccio. Additional clients I have worked for include: Gucci, Giorgio Armani, Lancôme, Costume National, Microsoft, Google, MINI, BMW.

Outside work I have lectured at the European Institute of Design and at the Communication Academy in Milan. I have also won various awards from the ADCI – Art Directors Club Italy and from the Young Creative Awards.
