A great deal of who we are is born out of making peace with discomfort. Prolonged exposure to oversaturated and underappreciated elements of our everyday environment forces a reckoning with our own natural likes and dislikes—a reexamination of why we’ve aligned ourselves with the things that we think define us ASLAN seeks to uniquely curate and design a story of rebirth at the intersection of utility and maximalism—it’s not such an absurd notion if you allow yourself exposure to it, after all—in order to shine a light on our apocalyptic societal failings. In a world bent on consumption, ethereality appeals to Aslan. “She Sits Up, High Dressed In Pewter”  is the first film directed by the rising fashion brand ASLAN. The conceptual film was created alongside the brand's first collection - 000. ASLAN takes you out of time, space and reality through visual storytelling. ASLAN pieces are carefully curated, being both avant-garde and experimental in concept and materiality, with the intention of twisting our perspective on garments, and offering a commentary on minimalist design.

CJ Aslan

CJ Aslan is a Filmmaker, Director, Production Designer, Creative Director, and Designer of the rising fashion brand ASLAN. Known for being a World Builder and People Designer - CJ Aslan connects the idea of dream and fantasy with the everyday world. It’s this same notion that brought her together with her many collaborators, such as Maluma, Willow Smith, Noah Cyrus, Tinashe, and Vic Mensa. From forging the avant-garde out of the ether for music videos, editorials, live concerts, and immersive installations to adding an otherworldly metallic flourish to the Met Gala red carpet, her path to directing came naturally.

Her brand ASLAN most recently designed a custom 14k gold chain link glove for Maluma's MET Gala look. His statement glove handmade by CJ ASLAN, took over 40 plus hours to complete. Consumed by intricate details, the glove is dripping in carefully curated gemstones, Swarovski crystals, and custom pendants webbed throughout the gold draping. Her custom work has been spotted in the September issue of INTERVIEW Magazine’s Market section to multiple Vogue articles, E! News, The Cut, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and Playboy - in just under a year ASLAN has been taking the industry by storm. Willow Smith rocked a custom ASLAN piece on the Jumbo Screen in Times Square and Noah Cyrus wore a custom glove for her Billboard Music Awards performance.

Aslan plans to continue directing and creating immersive content to be paired with each collection the brand releases.
