Sam Mandich is a Photographer, Filmmaker, and Dancer who is artistically driven to create a space where people from all backgrounds of any ethnicity, gender, and body size can embrace the vulnerability of telling their stories. Blurring the lines between documentary and fiction, she strives to take a poetic approach in filmmaking and fashion photography to give people the freedom to express themselves in a way that feels authentic to them. This approach hopefully moves others to feel a sense of belonging as well.
Sam has a Masters in Fashion Film & Photography from the Paris College of Art where she earned a scholarship and graduated on the dean's list. She also has a background working in the fashion industry for brands and editorial publications such as Louis Vuitton, Marie Claire, and The RealReal in the fashion, styling, and creative production departments. The element of fashion in Sam’s work comes from a place of offering people a sense of identity, inclusion, and expression.
Dance is Sam’s first passion, and has served as inspiration in most of her films and photographs. Through the intimacy of dance, Sam attempts to challenge the perspective of the female gaze and create a connection with her audience. She hopes to continue to write and choreograph films with a sense of magic grounded in reality to inspire others to feel seen through her work.
