Dark fashion and psychedelia converge in 2018's insanely stylish VFX music video directed by visual director/musician Giovanni Bucci, and produced together with partner art director/designer Paola Rocchetti through creative studio Void 'n Disorder.

“Disobey” it’s a multidisciplinary art project that integrates dozens of detailed, disparate production elements into one cohesive vision, sound, and beat. The video explores themes of Man vs. Machine, of Nature vs. Technology, and paints the Goddess Hekate as a 21st Century nightmare, ensnaring victims and bending them to her will.

Giovanni Bucci

Dutch-Italian award-winning director / creative director and motion designer based in Los Angeles.

With 15 years of industry experience, his skills range from concept, direction, design, animation, to editing and compositing for commercials, music videos, promos, title sequences and more. Gio’s understanding of the entire production process enables him to brainstorm different innovative ideas with the most successful outcome in mind.

He’s worked for many high-end clients including: Red Bull, MTV, Netflix, FX, Nike, Warner Bros, Sony, Columbia Records, BMW and more. Gio has also collaborated with acclaimed companies such as: Saatchi & Saatchi, Psyop, Framestore, Prologue Films, yU+co, The Mill, and Publicis. Giovanni’s work has been featured in industry magazines and websites including: Rolling Stone, Computer Arts, Stash, Idn, Post Magazine and many others.

Gio directed two Korn music videos (Never Never and Love & Meth), which have won several awards. He’s directed and designed Idents for MTV and Red Bull, and worked as motion designer on film titles including Star Trek: Beyond, Pacific Rim Uprising, RoboCop (2014), along with many others. He’s worked with industry professionals including Kyle Cooper, Danny Yount and Garson Yu, some of the most prominent artists in film titles today.

In 2011, his film project Addictions was selected as a Vimeo Staff pick. It won various awards and has been screened at numerous festivals all over the world.

Gio learned to play several instruments early on. He later embarked on alternative, rock and electronic music projects, which have significantly influenced his approach to video.

Sound is a crucial element to his work, and he dedicates considerable attention to the seamless integration of dynamic sound and visuals. Giovanni’s love of music led him to embark on the full-scale music project ODDKO. The debut single “Disobey” from the first album “Escape The Maze” has been released with an insane VFX music video directed by Gio in November 2018.
