Clothes swapping is the perfect way to revamp your wardrobe without spending a penny and helping to reduce some of the £140 million worth of clothing going into landfill every year. And with feeble pay, horrendous working conditions and non-existent rights in the workplace posing as day-to-day life for many, even for children as young as 8, the need to consider an ethical approach to shopping has become even more pressing. This is a brilliant way to keep fashion sustainable and get rid of those unworn clothes and fill your wardrobe with pre loved goodies!

How do I swap?
Bring as many pre loved items of clothing as you can find to our quality check team, we’ll check them and make sure they are fit for swapping. You can also bring any clothes you’d like to donate directly to Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity with you, we’ll sort that for you! We’ll hang all of the clothes up and you can start swapping!

What can I bring?
Any items of clothing you think still have life in them; coats, tops, jeans, trousers, shirts, skirts, bags, hats (the list really is endless) Please don’t bring anything you think isn’t fit to be passed on; i.e. any holes, big stains, bits missing! Please also give it a quick wash before you bring it!

What if I don’t have anything to swap?
If you don’t have anything you think suitable for swapping, we suggest a donation of £1 per item you decide to take away! This also applies if you would like to take any extra items that you think you might not have brought enough clothes to swap with. You can pay this to our quality check team!

There will also be a time to educate yourselves! We will be joined by a panel of leading experts in ethical fashion and human rights in the textile industry! More details to be announced!

Alongside all this wonderful charity goodness, some lovely Matlock DJs will be gracing you with their groovy rhythms. Local yummy treats and a raffle with also feature with fabulous prizes from loads of local business!

*** All money donated will go straight to Amnesty International and all left over clothes to Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity***
