Raise a glass: The touring production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s immeasurably popular musical will relaunch in August 2021. Awesome. Wow.
Before the world turned upside down, the hip-hop history of Alexander Hamilton’s life had just returned to the Pantages Theater in the spring of 2020. But as events across L.A. were canceled, so too progressively were performances of Hamilton—initially for just a few weeks but eventually for a year and a half.
Now it’s back with new run dates—August 17, 2021 through January 2, 2022—but you’ll need to be fully vaccinated to attend any performances through October 10 (at least), and wear a mask as well. Unlike some events that’ve simply asked you to check a box online, Pantages requires that guests 12 and older bring a photo ID and proof of vaccination to the theater (with some exceptions; those people will instead be required to show proof of a negative test result within the past 72 hours).
Also, the #Ham4Ham digital lottery returns: Starting every Friday at 10am and until the next Thursday at noon, you can enter for a chance to purchase a pair of $10 tickets to the following week’s performances. Then, just wait for it: If you win, you’ll be notified on Thursday between noon and 4pm and have an hour to claim your tickets.
