fashmash pioneers
An annual programme of monthly talks featuring the world’s brightest minds dissecting the future of fashion.
Five years after founding a networking group for digital leaders in the fashion industry, FashMash is expanding the fashion-tech insider group for a new audience. Launching in early 2018, FashMash Pioneers is an annual programme of talks featuring the world’s brightest minds dissecting the future of fashion. Sponsored by digital agency Isobar, the monthly event series aims to inspire our community and nurture the next generation of industry talent.
Speakers to date have included Tomas Roope of Google Zoo talking about machine learning; Sherif Elsayed-Ali of Amnesty International giving his insight on data protection and privacy, and Dan Widmaier of Bolt Threads, discussing the future of bioengineering for a more sustainable fashion industry. This spring, we welcomed Sandrine Deveaux, Farfetch's managing director of the dedicated 'Store of the Future' division and Anna Gedda, head of sustainability at the H&M Group.

If there’s one big buzzword in tech circles at present, it’s blockchain. Oft referred to as the future of the internet, this is an immutable digital ledger, meaning something that engenders trust and security through its usage. For fashion and luxury therefore, it’s going to become an increasingly relevant tool for authenticity, provenance, supply chain validity and more. Join us as we speak with one of the preeminent names in the space, Laurence Haziot, global managing director at IBM, which is already working on a blockchain programme to help authenticate the diamond industry.
